Alphabet Book on the Joy of the Lord in My Heart

Note: The King James Version is used, but below are some hints on how to read the King James Bible which by many scholars has been said to be the most accurate translations of all of those out there.
thou = you
thee = your
ye = you
saith = says
heareth = hears
(Any word ending in “ith” or “eth”, is just our simple modern day present tense.)

A – AUTHOR –“Looking unto Jesus the AUTHOR and finisher of our faith; who for the JOY that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
B – BRIDE and BRIDEGROOM – “ He that hath the BRIDE is the BRIDEGROOM: but the friend of the BRIDEGROOM, standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the BRIDEGROOM’s voice: this my JOY therefore is fulfilled.” John 3:29
C – CROWN – Therefore, my brethren (family in Christ) dearly beloved and longed for, my JOY and my CROWN, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.” Philippians 4:1
D – DAVID “So David and the elders of Israel, and the captains went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obededom with JOY.” I Chronicles 15:25
E – ENTER – “His lord said unto him, well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: ENTER thou into the JOY of thy lord.” Matthew 25:21 (also Matthew 25:23)
F –FRUIT – “But the FRUIT of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.” Galations 5:22
G – GLADNESS – “Thou hast put GLADNESS in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.” Psalm 4:7
H – HOLY – “Then he (Nehemiah) said unto them, Go thy way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is HOLY unto our Lord; neither be ye sorry: for the JOY of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
I – “I (Jesus) say unto you that likewise JOY shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need to repentance.” Luke 15:7
J – JOY – “They that sow in tears shall reap in JOY.” Psalm 126:5
K – KINGDOM – “For the KINGDOM of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and JOY in the Holy Ghost.” Romans 14:17
Note: Holy Ghost = Holy Spirit
L – LIPS – “My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise thee with JOYFUL LIPS.” Psalm 63:5
M – MAKE – “MAKE a JOYFUL noise unto God, all ye lands.” Psalm 66:1
N – NATIONS – “O let the NATIONS be glad and sing for JOY: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the NATIONS upon earth. Selah.” Psalm 67:4
O – OIL – “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the OIL of JOY for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3
P – PATH – “Thou wilt show me the PATH of life in thy presence is fullness of JOY; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11
Q – QUESTION – Should we rejoice if we are also partakers of Christ’s suffering?
Answer: “But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings: that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding JOY.” I Peter 4:13
R – REJOICE – “The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will REJOICE over thee with JOY; he will rest in his love, he will JOY over thee with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
S – SHOUT – “But let those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever SHOUT for JOY, because thou defendest them: let them that love thy name be JOYFUL in thee.” Psalm 5:11
T –TEMPTATIONS – “My brethren count it all JOY when ye fall into divers TEMPTATIONS.” (various trials) James 1:2
U – UPHOLD – “Restore unto me the JOY of thy salvation; and UPHOLD me with thy free spirit.” Psalm 51:12
V – VALLEYS – “The pastures are clothed with flocks; the VALLEYS also are covered over with corn; they shout for JOY, they also sing.” Psalm 65:13
W – WEEPING – “So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of JOY from the noise of the WEEPING of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.” Ezra 3:13
X –Marks the Spot in my heart full of JOY of the Lord. The Lord Jesus Himself said,
“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask and ye shall receive that your JOY may be full.” John 16:24
Y – YE (YOU) – “For what is our hope or JOY, or crown of rejoicing? Are not YE in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For YE are our glory and JOY.” I Thessalonians 2:19-20
Z – ZION – “And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and came to ZION with songs, and everlasting JOY upon their heads: they shall obtain JOY and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 35:10

My hope and prayer for you is that Jesus is the Joy of your Heart and that you have accepted Him as your personal Lord and Savior. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER (That’s you!) believeth in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
